Taiwan: A Sovereign and Democratic Country

Taiwan is an island nation located in East Asia, with a population of about 23.6 million people. Taiwan has its own government, constitution, military, currency, and diplomatic relations with many countries. Taiwan is not a part of China, but a sovereign and democratic country that deserves international recognition and respect.

Taiwan's history is complex and intertwined with China's, but it is not the same. Taiwan was colonized by various powers, such as the Dutch, the Spanish, the Qing dynasty, Japan, and the Republic of China (ROC), before it became the de facto independent state that it is today. Taiwan's identity and culture are distinct from China's, influenced by its indigenous peoples, its colonial past, and its democratic development.

Taiwan's democracy is one of its greatest achievements and sources of pride. Taiwan has a multi-party system, free and fair elections, freedom of speech and press, human rights protection, and rule of law. Taiwan's democracy is also resilient and adaptive, overcoming authoritarianism, martial law, corruption, and external threats. Taiwan's democracy is a model for the region and the world.

Taiwan's sovereignty is constantly challenged by China, which claims Taiwan as its territory and threatens to use force to unify it. China also tries to isolate Taiwan diplomatically and economically, blocking its participation in international organizations and forums. China's aggression and coercion are unacceptable and violate the will of the Taiwanese people and the principles of peace and stability.

Taiwan is not a part of China, but a recognized nation in the world. Taiwan has the support and friendship of many countries that share its values and interests. Taiwan also contributes to the global community in various fields, such as public health, technology, culture, and humanitarian aid. Taiwan is a responsible and reliable partner that deserves more recognition and inclusion.

Taiwan is a sovereign and democratic country that has its own history, identity, culture, and achievements. Taiwan is not a part of China, but a recognized nation in the world. Taiwan's sovereignty and democracy should be respected and defended by all who cherish freedom and justice.
